My new acquintance and I were talking about our own perspective about economic situation by region. He now lives in Shanghai, and that gives him a good perspective about what is really happening in China as well as how China is making a difference within the region.
Whenever someone become active and successful, there are many people who become jealous. They become concerned that if someone else succeeds, chance of success is likely to diminish. It’s all about dividing up whole pie. China is active and successful as manufacturing site of the world. Many Japanese have this attitude that if China is successful, Japan will be hurt. Less business flowing Japan’s way, less foreign capital investments. But from the ground level, things look very different from what one reads in mass communication publication. China may manufacture, but services and products that are needed for manufacturing are ordered frequently to Japan. Therefore companies who are positioned to provide what China needs are very successful now.
